Bellhop reviews driver#
Long story short, the moving truck arrived two hours late, and the driver simply said "oh sorry" when he arrived. The two movers arrived and assessed my belongings in my apartment, and said "the truck will be here in about 5 minutes, so we can start getting things setup downstairs". Bellhops does not have a fleet of their own vehicles. Things got wonky, however, when it came to the actual moving truck. They asked me if I had a dolly (which, as an apartment dweller, I did not), so I found that odd- luckily the apartment leasing office had one for us to use. The movers themselves were cordial, on time, and handled my items with care.

It's worth noting that these aren't "movers", they're simply people Bellhops hires for moving gigs, which is exactly what the guy told me as we were waiting around. They were hired to move the big stuff- I handled small items and boxes as best I could to save on money since they bill by the hour. I used Bellhops for my last move and the experience was pretty lackluster. The just need to refine their movers and it could be a really good company. Overall, their customer service team has been AMAZING. I received $600 back for all my damage! I literally figured it would be getting less than $100 back. UPDATE: I called customer service and submitted a claim. I’ve used two men and a truck in the past and they are much better. Long story short: NEVER USE BELLHOPS TO MOVE. The move took way longer than it should have, my items were damaged and I’m out the $1000 to replace the 3 year old mattress that they ruined. I have a pillow top so this completely destroyed the mattress. It was left on its side but not completely straight up. Once I got everything into the new place, I realized multiple pieces of wood furniture had marks on it from being hit against walls. They had them in the truck but all were flat so they were unable to use them.

On top of this, they were supposed to have dollies. Once in the truck they just laid a blanket over each piece but no tape was used. I thought this was odd because the whole point was so that they didn’t get damaged while moving. I asked again and was told “things would be wrapped in the truck”.

They started moving stuff without wrapping. This was the main reason I booked with them.Ĭome moving day, I remind the movers that I wanted each item to be wrapped. They told me they cover each piece in a moving blanket and then tape it shut. Before the move I called and asked them how they cover items.
